A well done to all those that took part in last week’s fun day and despite the weather a reasonable turn out and sum was raised to boost club funds. Competitions are now well underway and congratulations to all the winners to date.
Hi All, The season has got of to a great start and the course was looking great until the crows attacked the greens looking for grubs. We are working on a solution which should eradicate the issue. Despite the wet weather the fun day went ahead and was enjoyed by those who attended. Even better is that we made over £700 so thank you all of you who participated. Terry
The weather has been superb for this early in the season so the course is looking and playing well.
In February I was very fortunate to be invited out to Germany for a tour of the John Deere factory which produces 1 tractor every 3 mins with the employees working in groups of between 4 & 8 and the ethos is that if one person makes a mistake everyone in the group loses their bonus. The efficiency is mind blowing and the people were super friendly. It was a great experience and an excellent opportunity to mingle with Greenkeeper’s from all over the country.
At the moment it is pouring rain and although the course is in need of it I wish it would rain at night 🤣. The super 500 has made an appearance and I have started with the rough and when it dries up I will get the on with the fairways. The greens have been pencil tinned and dressed this month. Here’s to the next month.
